Vernacular Mass Revisions
A proper understanding of who our God is !
No evil (demonic influence) can take place without the permission of God. [ Job – O. T.]
Adam and Eve, though they were told what to do and not to do, had no experience with the concept of evil. Human nature seeks experience and answers to many questions but does not understand or even have practical knowledge of right versus wrong. Appreciation for what we have is often not realized until comparative values are attached.
Not only in Old Testament times, but even more so with the coming of Jesus has Satan and his minions been active. Unable to destroy the new Church Jesus established on earth through external forces, demons, under the authority of Lucifer, began a campaign of attacking God's Church from within. Most critical was the necessity to compromise the Sacraments. The greatest of these sacraments was contained in the Holy Mass offered by worthy priests.
While it is very important to have quality sermons (great oratory does not mean a sermon has real value), it is even more critical to have validly consecrated hosts distributed among the faithful so that Jesus is brought present in neighborhoods throughout the world to discourage the presence of devils.
Early century Masses were simple, instructive, and through the presence of valid Eucharist a foundation of faith was established that enabled true
Christians to both evangelize and give witness to their faith to the point of giving up their lives as witnesses for others to see or to become aware.
Over the centuries various appurtenances were added to meetings with a priest eventually turning the Mass into a ritual that was for many a theatrical production. The desire for meaningful commentaries concerning the important teachings of Sacred Scripture gradually diminished to the point where today we have homilies, not sermons; feel good presentations, not instructions on how to have a true relationship with God so that one day we would benefit from the sacrificial witness to truth given by Jesus on Mount Zion.
During the Last Supper Jesus asked us to participate with His one universal offering made during the "Last Supper" and later consummated on Calvary.
When a moral priest pronounces the words of consecration Jesus becomes fully present in the consecrated Host; body, blood, soul, and divinity. He is present materially, physically, and spiritually.
Jesus makes only one offering of Himself. He suffers and dies only once; sacrificed only once. True Christians (Catholics in good conscience - freed from mortal sin through worthy confession and followed by a priest's absolution [Jn. 20:23] ) participate in that one universal offering, made at Jesus' final Supper in the year 33 A. D., when coming forward, at least with the general intention of offering their own sacrifices of faith (Corporal – includes worthy household care and nurturing of God's children without complaint – and Spiritual Works of Mercy), in union with Jesus' propitiatory offering when receiving Holy Communion.
Mk. 10:38 Jesus said to them,
"You do not know what you are asking. Can you drink the cup that I drink or be baptized with the baptism with which I am baptized?"
Jn. 6:35 Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me will never hunger, and whoever believes in me will never thirst.
Col. 1:24 Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake and in my flesh I am filling up what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ on behalf of his body which is the church.
Php. 3:10 to know him and the power of his resurrection and (the) sharing of his sufferings by being conformed to His death.
2Ti. 1:8 So do not be ashamed of your testimony to our Lord nor of me a prisoner for his sake; but bear your share of hardship for the gospel with the strength that comes from God.
1Pe. 4:13 But rejoice to the extent that you share in the sufferings of Christ so that when his glory is revealed you may also rejoice exultantly.
The three concepts of who God is:
- The God of Jesus, called both Son of God and son of man, is Yahweh, He Who Is. Jesus' God, also known as the Father, eternally generated the Son.
The Father and the Son, Yahweh and Jesus, spirate the Ghost (Holy Ghost / Paraclete – Note that both Divine and human beings are composed of body, soul, and spirit; therefore, it is improper to refer to the Ghost as spirit as the term spirit fails to distinguish between the two aspects of His being placing Him with the lesser category of human beings who do not have a divine nature.). Since both Yahweh and Jesus are necessary for the Ghost's existence they are collectively His God, a Duality of Being.
Intelligent life, human beings, are created by the Trinitarian collective who is referred to as our God [Gn. 1:26-27] Male and female They created them each having primary duties and responsibilities. Males to control the world while providing for the needs of their families. Females to bear and nourish children while acting as assistants to their husbands. It must be kept in mind that in God's sight that neither is considered as better than the other and sin is committed when one abuses a position of God's trust.
While men can do a passible job at doing most of women's natural work and visa versa, it should be kept in mind that if one's natural responsibilities are neglected then such person is offensive to each of the three Persons of the Godhead, the Holy Trinity.
As intelligent life has only one God, the Trinity, then to say that Yahweh is God, that Jesus is God, and the Paraclete is God is an error for that would mean there are four god's, the Three Divine Beings and the Collective; a ludicrous concept.
In all considerations of God, He or they are individually:
- Divine,
- Universal,
- Unlimited,
- Eternal, and more.
All Masses said by a moral priest are direct participations in the timeless and universal Mass of the "Last Supper" said by our High Priest, Jesus, that was offered in 33 A. D., the evening before He suffered and cruelly died, at the instigation of non-believing Jews, on the cross. His death gives the opportunity for all who believe, or would believe, in the Son of God to have eternal happiness. All others have no right to expect anything different than the heat of eternal fires.
I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingly power: proclaim the word; be persistent whether it is convenient or inconvenient; convince, reprimand, encourage through all patience and teaching. For the time will come when people will not tolerate sound doctrine but, following their own desires and insatiable curiosity, will accumulate teachers and will stop listening to the truth and will be diverted to myths. But you, be self-possessed in all circumstances; put up with hardship; perform the work of an evangelist; fulfill your ministry. [ 2 Tim. 4:1-8 ]
It should be kept in mind that failure to do good, when the opportunity is presented, warrants everlasting punishment. Omission of good has the same ultimate effect as commission of evil.
Sins of Omission can be More Insidious than Sins of Commission.
